2015 Lambing
Lambing started this year on April 1st, what a lovely surprise! There are no lambs currently for sale.
Babb x Majyk - April 1st
A lovely black grey ram lamb and a black ewe lamb - excellent for a first time mum! Babb is attentive and has a lovely large udder. These lambs will carry moorit from their mother, and spotting from Majyk.
Aldora x Majyk - April 4th
Aldora need a wee bit of assistance this morning as this boy's horn buds were causing a slight jam. Once I gently manipulated them, he came out without further assistance. Aldora immediately started mommy grunting to him. Her moorit spotted ram lamb is an absolute doll, he already appears to have Majyk's laid back attitude as evidenced by these candid photos.
Ophelia x Alfalfa - April 6th
Ophelia and her adorable spotted ram lamb out of Alfalfa!
Lola x Majyk - April 7th
Lola and her twin ram lambs out of Majyk. She is being an excellent first time mother, with plenty of milk to feed these hungry tykes. These boys will carry moorit from Lola and spotting from Majyk.
Sula x Majyk - April 9th
Sula had triplet girls. Unfortunately, two of the ewe lambs were born under 3.5lbs - the moorit grey spotted girl is now a bouncing healthy bottle baby, growing like a weed. Her sister did not survive - after consulting with my vet, we both believe her lungs were not fully developed. The white ewe lamb is with Sula, growing in leaps and bounds.
Gwen x Alfalfa - April 9th
Gwen and Sula gave birth at the same time and there was some confusion over which lambs belongs to who. When I got home from work, I found both of Gwen's lambs had not survived.
Rapunzel x Majyk - April 9th
Rapunzel was NOT supposed to be bred this year. She was supposed to behave and let the CIDR work but oh no, she had other plans! I have been watching her like a hawk since I noted down her jail break on my calendar - fortunately, she was able to birth this stunning Grey Badgerface ram lamb. Unfortunately, since I wasn't home to hold her hoof through the stress of labor, she has rejected him and will not let him nurse, so he's a bottle baby. He will go back out with the flock once little Yra, Sula's moorit spotted ewe lamb, has increased in size and can't slip through the fencing. They are both gaining weight very well on sheep's milk and replacer.
Nanna x Majyk - April 16th
Nanna gave birth to a lovely set of ewe twins! A solid moorit and what I think is a black spotted, a little hard to tell if she is moorit or black at this point.
Hannah x Majyk - April 19th
Hannah ended lambing season with a bang and had twin moorit ram lambs - hooray!
