Olive gave birth to Ophelia yesterday, a lovely spotted black and white ewe lamb. Unfortunately, she has rejected the ewe lamb so we are spending time holding Olive so her baby can nurse, and bottle feeding her with milk from Guinivere, who lost her baby earlier this week. At night, Ophelia sleeps cuddled up to Kweeba, our icelandic sheepdog. Yet another reason to adore this wonderful dogs!
Guinivere gave birth to a lovely little black ewe lamb late yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, she got chilled, and even though we tried our best, we lost her.
So today I spend mulling over what we had done and what we could have done differently. This will be the 2nd lamb of the season and lost. Hopefully 3rd time is the charm. A person may cause evil to others not only by his actions but by his inaction, and in either case he is justly accountable to them for the injury. John Stuart Mill Time to give everyone their CD/T shots. So today we took care of all the goats and kids.
I prefer to use Vision CD/T w/SPUR for my sheep. I also milked Gracie to even out her udder. |
